In conjunction with the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, INSECT LAB has contributed a mechanically adorned and sculpted grasshopper as part of their new Child Inventor Services, a dynamic new scientific exhibit meant to take kids through the innovative process’s and creativity of a scientst, Sandy.

Sandy is a young inventor. Her neighbors in Our Town know her as the community’s most innovative engineer. Explore Sandy’s laboratory and check out her collection of unusual artifacts. Use circuitry, robotics, wind power and other technologies to help Sandy solve problems for her Our Town neighbors.
This all-new exhibit was developed collaboratively with Fairchild Semiconductor. A committee of Fairchild volunteers – many of them engineers – met with Museum & Theatre staff over the course of many months to develop an exhibit that uses fun, hands-on, open-ended experiments to introduce children to engineering.
